McDonald County Emergency Management

FEMA Saferooms are located in the following locations:  

Pineville at the Pineville Elementary School at 8th and Highway W

Southwest City at the Southwest City Elementary School at 411 Academy Street

McDonald County High School at 100 Mustang Lane, Anderson

Shelters are open when a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued and the thunderstorm is capable of producing a tornado and or a Tornado Warning is issued for a location with a saferoom or the approach of a dangerous storm that  has produced a tornado.

Saferooms are rated to stand a storm that produces EF-5 winds
